Treatment
Outline of purpose or concept/plot
The outline of the plot is that there are two friends that walk past a gravestone. One of the friend (Zara) is laughing and continues even after her other friend (Maria) tells her not to. Then Maria tells a story of people who have heard voices in their heads after laughing at the gravestone of this particular old man. Zara does not believe it, and continues to laugh around the gravestone. After some time, Zara begins to hear voices in her head that no one else hears. She freaks out, and asks Maria how to get rid of hearing voices. At the end she goes back to the gravestone and apologises until the voices suddenly stop.

Target audience and scheduling/distribution
The target audience is 16 to late 20s, as this age range would be more engaged with the story line. This is because it really relates to young people of this age range. It's mostly young people that are interested into unrealistic and mysterious rumours happening around. This really affects these youngsters as they would want to know more and find out what will happen next. This short film is distributed to the ‘East End Urban Film Festival’ where it will be shown at the cinemas. This is crucial as the themes connect with the short film and the festival brilliantly, creating a sense of conventional relevancy. The festival focuses in short film regarding the urban genre, therefore things regarding to mystery, horror and suburban culture. In addition, it could also be watched onto YouTube through the link of the short film, due to the popularity of this online platform. This would then allow for a great amount of audience to access the film.

Genres and themes ( Also linked to M1 )                                                                      The genre of the urban film with elements of horror and mystery. This is portrayed through the use of costumes, language and the locations, within our film. The use of urban clothing like hoodies and dark outfits demonstrates the genre, as well as the way they utilise language through the use of slang, East London accent and telling jokes also depicts the urban genre. I was able to identify the codes and conventions of the Urban genre by watching films such as "Juice", "Straight out of Compton" and "Anuvahood" all of these films are set in set in urban environments and revolve around grounds of teenagers often in gangs. This taught me that the settings of the film represent more the iconic landmarks and buildings of the East End of London, besides the street art in Brick lane, the cemetery and the gritty houses further develop the urban ideology and the showcasing of of the surrounding area blends well with the overall urban representation of the film. The story also relates to people that live specifically in East London and are familiar with east end culture, this is really important as they can associate themselves throughout the film, due to its great representation of the urban themes ranging from costumes, neighbourhood, language and culture.
